Taking the bus across North East Lincolnshire is set to get easier thanks to several changes to the service.
Services 3 and 4, the most popular routes, will have timings changed slightly to improve punctuality with others such as the 7 and 8 following suit. The current evening and Sunday 45 service timetable and route will remain unchanged; however, it will be renumbered as Service 5.
Elsewhere, parts of rural North East Lincolnshire have been made more accessible thanks to an extension of the number 5. The change will connect Wren Kitchens with Grimsby whilst serving South Killingholme, East Halton, Goxhill, Barrow Upon Humber and Barton Upon Humber all at the same time.
In addition, the service 5 will continue as an 8 service at Grimsby Riverhead Exchange to provide a direct connection from Immingham to Grimsby Hospital and Cleethorpes with changes being introduced from Sunday, 6 September.
The 12 service will return to Bradley Park, the Grange Estate and New Waltham at an hourly frequency, however, the 11 service will be discontinued, therefore Bradley Road will no longer have a dedicated bus service due to low usage in the area.
Residents along Bradley Road affected by the changes will continue to have access to public transport by using the Phone N’ Ride transport service. Those travelling from Station Road will continue to have the 8 but can also access the nearby 9 and 10 service – ensuring access to local services, employment, education and other key destinations around the borough.

“We appreciate removing the 11 service may be frustrating to some, but due to the low uptake it did not make sense to continue it. Going forward, we intend to look at using any funds saved to help further develop and improve the other services.”
