This autumn why not get out and about for a short, sociable walk along our lovely Cleethorpes coastline and raise some money for charity too!

Join the Mayor of North East Lincolnshire, Cllr Marian Boyd, on Saturday October 10 2026 for a walk in aid of her two chosen charities – Bob’s Brainwaves and the RNLI.

The walk begins at 10am at St Anthony’s Bank car park and runs along the seafront past the Boating Lake to finish at Cleethorpes Leisure Centre,  a distance of 1.1 miles.

To take part you must register here:  Mayor’s Sponsored Walk – Fill in form.  You will then receive a sponsorship form and further details of the event.

Bob’s Brainwaves is a charity offering support and advice to those who are suffering or have family members who have been diagnosed with dementia. Founder Chris Suich began the charity after her husband, Bob, was diagnosed with the condition himself. Sadly, Bob passed away recently.

RNLI is a national charity that helps save lives at sea. They do this through life boat search and rescue, lifeguards, water safety and education.

The Mayor said: “My two chosen charities are both very close to my heart and I am hoping to raise as much money as I can for them during my Mayoral year.

“The sponsored walk is a fun, social event for family and friends to get together. It is a relatively flat walk so we hope that will encourage people of all ages and abilities to come and join us.

“We hope the weather will be kind to us but, since it is October, don’t forget to bring along a brolly!”
