Works to add more spaces to a town centre car park will start later this month (14 September).

The Council-owned Burgess Street car park on the north east corner of Ellis Way and Victoria Street has a current capacity of around 40 spaces.

The work, to be undertaken by PBS will clear the ground, address identified problems with pavement, drainage and layout before re-marking.

This will result in a 50% increase in spaces in the same area – to around 60 spaces, with a more welcoming car park for use. The site will include three dedicated spaces for disabled users, four EV charging spaces and spaces for motorcycles.

In order to do the work, the whole of the area will be taken out of use for approximately 12 weeks from the start of the project to early December..

Customers for Huws Gray / BuildBase should use the parking at the front of the building.
