Shoppers in Grimsby will be able to visit Top Town Market on Wednesday.
In light of the government’s announcement about another lockdown, Top Town Market will be opening its doors for an extra day’s trading on Wednesday 4 November.
The Market, which is usually closed on Wednesdays, will be open from 9am to 4pm.
Visitors and traders will benefit from an extra chance to pick up a bargain before the Borough re-enters lockdown on Thursday morning.
Since the market fully reopened back in June, it has continued to operate with strict safety measures in place to ensure a safe and enjoyable shopping experience for visitors.
North East Lincolnshire Council, and its regeneration partner ENGIE, made the decision to open the market, to support the traders who are closing as a result of the new restrictions.
Councillor John Fenty, cabinet member for regeneration and skills at North East Lincolnshire Council said:
“I am pleased to say we will be opening the market tomorrow to allow shoppers the chance to support the businesses that will be closing.
“It’s been a tough year for local businesses, which have faced unprecedented challenges, and will have to brace themselves as we enter another lockdown.
“The market’s management team is working tirelessly to ensure the market complies with the new restrictions and a further update will be provided tomorrow,” he added.
