Works to reconstruct the footways on Estate Road 2 are progressing well and will be completed on Monday 21 December.
Following the completion of the footway works, current traffic management will be removed to allow two-way traffic to flow over the Christmas period.
On Monday 11 January, a full road closure will be introduced between the junctions of Estate Road 5 and Estate Road 6. This will allow the contractor to continue with the carriageway reconstruction works at this location. This section of the road closure will be in place until Saturday 6 February. Businesses in the area have been informed.
During the closure, a signed diversion route will be in place and advanced warning notices will be displayed. Emergency access will be maintained at all times.
The carriageway reconstruction works are being completed in sections to reduce the impact on businesses and allow the works to fit around the logistical requirements of businesses in the working area. Details of the second sectional closure will be released once confirmed.
Councillor Stewart Swinburn, portfolio holder for environment and transport, said: “I’d like to thank businesses in this area for their continued support while we carry out these much-needed improvements.
“We remain committed to ensuring this scheme is completed with minimal disruption to nearby businesses and appreciate their continued patience and engagement with us as we look to develop a programme that meets their operational requirements as much as possible.
“The full programme of work is due to be completed in the coming months and we will continue to engage with all businesses and stakeholders throughout the traffic management changes.”
North East Lincolnshire Council’s regeneration partner, ENGIE, are managing and overseeing the scheme with contractor, EC Surfacing Ltd, carrying out the improvements.
