New ways to access the bus pass service starts next week

Residents who need a new or replacement bus pass can now pick them up from Age UK in Grimsby or by using a new online platform from Monday 21 June.

Bus passes will no longer be issued from Centre4 or Grimsby Library from Friday 18 June.

Age UK Cleethorpes will be continuing with the existing arrangements and people can also continue to order their passes on an appointment-only basis at Immingham Civic Centre Community Hub.

The venue changes follow a renewal of the bus pass delivery partner, with Age UK now the council’s main partner in the delivery of the bus pass service.

Councillor Stewart Swinburn, portfolio holder for environment and transport, said: “I would like to thank Centre4 and Lincs Inspire, our previous delivery partners, for their work and support with the bus pass service. I also welcome the news of our new service provider, Age UK, and the online platform.

“Concessionary passes provide a lifeline, helping to support many people in getting around the area and they are an affordable option of sustainable transport to our local communities.

“The launch of an online platform is in line with our digital transformation and was the natural next step in the development of this service for our residents.”  

An Age UK spokesperson added: “We at Age UK N E Lincs are delighted to offer this service to the residents of N E Lincs.”

An appointment-only system will be in place for applications at Age UK Grimsby. To book an appointment, call 01472 344976 option 1. 

Age UK Cleethorpes will continue with an appointment-only system in place. To book an appointment, call (01472) 344976, option 2. On arrival, you will need to knock on the door and wait to be let in. 

Immingham Civic Centre Community Hub will be continuing with the service and local residents can order their passes on an appointment-only basis. To book an appointment, call (01469) 727272. Residents will need to provide a passport photograph. The photograph will then be sent to Age UK who will process the application and post the bus pass to the resident once processed.
