In December 2021, the Government announced a new business grant to support eligible businesses within the hospitality, leisure, and accommodation sectors in recognition of potential trading challenges brought about by the Omicron variant, particularly over the Christmas period.

A one-off grant of up to £6,000 per premises is available to support eligible businesses within these sectors. The actual value of grant awarded will depend on the rateable value of the premises.

Businesses that are eligible for this grant include pubs and restaurants, leisure outlets and accommodation providers.

In addition to the above, North East Lincolnshire Council has been awarded £203,000 of Additional Restrictions Grant (ARG) to allow us to support businesses severely affected by Omicron who do not fall into the above criteria.

This grant will be awarded to eligible businesses in hospitality, leisure and accommodation sectors who are not business ratepayers, and supply chain businesses who provide the hospitality and leisure Industry.

These impacted businesses may have had significantly reduced trade due to cancellations, closures, or reduced trade due to staff sickness or isolation.

Grants of between £1000 and £6,000 are available to eligible businesses, dependent on impact on their business and rateable value.

Applications for both schemes are open until midnight on 14 February 2022 to allow time for applications to be checked and processed before the deadline given by Government for eligibility checks and grant award decisions to be made by 28 February.  All payments will be made before the 31 March 2022.
