East Marsh groups encouraged to bid for funding

COMMUNITY groups in the East Marsh are being encouraged to bid for a pot of funding as part of the Home Office Safer Streets project.

The project is being run by North East Lincolnshire Council and The Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner (OPCC), and is aimed at reducing crime and anti-social behaviour.

The partnership was last year awarded £749,500 to help give community groups in the patch a jump start.

Several community groups in the area have already benefitted from the funding, including a local boxing club, a neighbourhood centre, and a park. These projects have included improving a CCTV network, training volunteers, and providing fitness equipment.

This is the fourth round of the Home Office Safer Streets Fund.
