00:15 – A reminder of last year’s local elections in our patch. Turnout was 25.09% and the election saw 14 candidates elected as Councillors.

00:05 – All wards have been verified. The turnout for this election is 23.12%.

00:00 – Waltham ward verification has ended and counting has begun.

23:55 – Sidney Sussex and Humberston & New Waltham verification is complete and counting will now begin.

23:50 – The verification process has ended for East Marsh, West Marsh, Immingham and Freshney wards. Counting will now begin.

23:20 – 15 councillors are to be elected this time around – one councillor for each of the following wards:

  • Croft Baker
  • East Marsh
  • Freshney
  • Haverstoe
  • Heneage
  • Humberston and New Waltham
  • Immingham
  • Park
  • Scartho
  • Sidney Sussex
  • South
  • Waltham
  • West Marsh
  • Wolds
  • Yarborough 

23:00 – This year’s local election in North East Lincolnshire has seen 110 counting staff, 187 poll clerks and 93 presiding officers.

22:42 – There are 42 Councillors (referred to as Elected Members) on North East Lincolnshire Council. The current political composition of the Council is as follows:

  • Conservative – 30
  • Labour – 8
  • Liberal Democrat – 3
  • Independent – 1

22:30 – We’re starting to see more ballot boxes arriving now. Remember that these boxes have to travel from across the length and breadth of the borough, so some will arrive later than others.

22:08 – The first ballot box has arrived.

22:05 – Verification of the postal votes is now underway.

22:00 – Polls close and we’re live from Grimsby Auditorium awaiting the arrival of the first ballot boxes.
