Clinical waste and sharps
Yellow sharps box
All syringes and sharps must be put in a yellow sharps box given to you by the service. This must be locked securely otherwise we can’t take it.
Yellow clinical waste bags
Please note, the Council no longer collects clinical waste bags.
You can collect yellow bags for surgical waste from your GP or hospital, but you will need to arrange for them to be collected by a healthcare provider.
Business waste
North East Lincolnshire Council does not have a commercial waste collection service.
As a business owner, it’s your responsibility to dispose of any trade waste. You need to:
- Keep waste to a minimum
- Sort and store waste safely
- Complete a waste transfer note for each load that you produce
- Register as a waste carrier
- Check if the waste carrier you use is registered
Rubbish which has been dumped illegally will be searched and the owner will have legal action taken against them.
