Candidate and Election Agent Briefing Session – General Election – 4 July 2024

In preparation for the General Election on Thursday, 4 July, North East Lincolnshire Council is holding a face-to-face briefing session for prospective candidates who are considering standing for election in the Great Grimsby and Cleethorpes or Brigg and Immingham Constituencies as well as their election agents.

The briefing will be held on Tuesday 4 June at 6pm at Grimsby Town Hall.

The briefing will cover the following:

  • key dates of the election timetable
  • qualifications & disqualifications
  • nominations
  • agents
  • voter ID
  • postal votes
  • polling day
  • counting of votes
  • candidate spending

If you are thinking of standing as a candidate, particularly if you are new to the nomination and elections process, you are strongly urged to attend the briefing sessions which will last for approximately one hour. You will have the opportunity to ask questions at the end of each session.

The nomination packs will also be available at the session, and also from the Council’s website later this week.
