Carriageway resurfacing programme disrupted due to parked cars

General

Unfortunately, we have been unable to resurface a number of streets on Monday 20 June due to parked cars.

The following roads in Cleethorpes are affected:

  • William Street – Mill Rd to house no. 11
  • George Street – St Peter’s Avenue to Chapman Grove
  • Reynolds Street – Brereton Avenue to Grimsby Road
  • Blundell Avenue – Brereton Avenue to Grimsby Road
  • Hart Street – full length

The contractor will be returning on Wednesday 22 June to attempt to complete the resurfacing for all the above streets. Therefore, people are urged to move all parked cars from these streets until the works have been completed.

West Street in Cleethorpes was also attempted on Monday 20 June, where a partial resurface was carried out. This street will also be included in the above works, so that the road resurfacing can be completed. Vehicles are asked not to park on this road while works are carried out.

If there are still cars parked down the above streets on Wednesday 22 June, the contractor will return on Thursday 23 June to attempt the resurfacing, where again, people are asked not to park their cars until the works have been completed.

If the problem persists on Thursday 23 June, then the contractor will again attempt the road surfacing on Friday 24 June on the affected streets, where again cars must remain off the streets to allow the works to be carried out.

If, on Friday 24 June, the contractor is still unable to carry out the works, then road surfacing will not be completed for that street in this year’s programme of works.
