COVID-19

It’s that time of year when many of us start to make plans for the spring and summer months. Perhaps you’re planning a holiday or thinking about those special days with family and friends. However, you plan to spend the coming months, getting your Covid-19 vaccination or booster will help to keep you, your loved ones and our community safe.

In recent months, there have been lots of venues in North East Lincolnshire hosting Covid-19 vaccination clinics, making grabbing a jab easy for people living in our area. Cleethorpes library is the latest venue to open its’ doors to people who still need their jab on Wednesday 2nd February, 9am until 1pm. There’s no need to book an appointment, just turn up.

“As the Government lift their latest restrictions, we’re really urging anyone who hasn’t yet come forward for their Covid-19 vaccine or booster, to get it done” said Dr Ekta Elston, Medical Director at North East Lincolnshire Clinical Commissioning Group.

“The figures seem to suggest that the symptoms of Omicron are less severe but some people do still become very poorly with it and we must continue to do our bit to protect people. It’s not too late to come forward for a first or a second dose. Getting fully vaccinated is the best way to prevent yourself and the people you care about becoming seriously unwell with Covid.”

The clinic will be offering first and second doses of the Pfizer vaccine and booster doses for people aged 16 and over (there must be 8 weeks between first and second doses and 3 months since the second dose before a booster vaccination can be given).

If you can’t make the clinic on Wednesday, there are lots of other walk-in clinics available across North East Lincolnshire which you can find on the CCG website: https://www.northeastlincolnshireccg.nhs.uk/covid-19/vaccineclinics/

Alternatively, you can book an appointment on the NHS website: www.nhs.uk/CoronavirusVaccination
