COVID-19

COVID jabs are coming to Blundell Park on Saturday.

Pfizer vaccinations will be available at the home of the Mariners from 1pm until 5.30pm on January 29. This coincides with the home game against Wealdstone. If you don’t have tickets, don’t worry. You can still pop to the ground for your jab if you’re in the area.

The vaccination team will be offering first and secondvaccinations and boosters for people aged 16 and over. No appointment needed, just walk in – you will find them via the entrance next to the ‘Executive Entrance’, which is across the main club car park directly behind McDonald’s.

With restrictions now being eased, North East Lincolnshire Acting Director of Public Health, Geoff Barnes, stressed how it was more important than ever for people to be fully vaccinated. He urged people to go along on Saturday – even if it was their first dose.

“With schools now well into the new term, North East Lincolnshire is starting to see a rise again in cases amongst children, which is inevitably spreading to their parents and older relatives,” explained Mr Barnes.

“All the figures suggest that whilst the Omicron variant is less severe in its symptoms it does still pose a significant risk to older and more vulnerable people. That alone is a vital reason for everyone to be fully vaccinated. Whether it’s your first, second or booster dose, we urge you to go along either on Saturday or to one of the many clinics,” he added.

Everyone 16 and over is now eligible for a booster three months after their second dose. Your second jab should be the same vaccine as your first, but you can have a different vaccine for your booster. If you’re not sure or have other questions, talk to our friendly vaccination staff.
