Conversion of Footway to Shared Cycleway/ Footway

MOODY LANE, GILBEY ROAD, WOAD LANE, LAFOREY ROAD AND ESTATE ROAD 1 (GRIMSBY)

North East Lincolnshire Borough Council hereby gives notice that in accordance with the powers contained within Section 66(4) of the Highways Act 1980, that the relevant lengths of footway will be removed and that following the removal of the footways, cycletracks (with a right of way on foot) will be constructed under the provisions of section 65(1) of the Highways Act 1980 for shared joint use by pedal cyclists and pedestrians.

Relevant lengths:

MOODY LANE

• Northern footway – From a point adjacent to the south-easterly kerbline of GILBEY ROAD in a northwesterly direction to a point 84.3 metres west of the south-easterly kerbline of GILBEY ROAD.
• Southern footway – From the north-westerly kerbline of GILBEY ROAD in a north-westerly direction to the easterly kerbline of WOAD LANE.

GILBEY ROAD

• North-western footway – From the southern kerbline of MOODY LANE in a south-westerly direction to a point 64.4 metres south-west of the southern kerbline of MOODY LANE.

WOAD LANE

• Western footway – From a point 23.5 metres west of the south-westerly kerbline of ESTATE ROAD
  5 in a generally north-easterly direction to a point 73.7 metres north of the northern kerbline of
  LAFOREY ROAD.
• Eastern footway – From the northerly kerbline of ESTATE ROAD 1 in a northerly direction to the
  southern kerbline of MOODY LANE.

LAFOREY ROAD

• Northern footway – From the western kerbline of WOAD LANE in a westerly direction to a point 31.5 metres west of the western kerbline of WOAD LANE.
• Southern footway – From the western kerbline of WOAD LANE in a westerly direction to a point 32.1 metres west of the western kerbline of WOAD LANE.

ESTATE ROAD 1

• Northern footway – From the eastern kerbline of WOAD LANE in an easterly direction to a point 63.5 metres east of the eastern kerbline of WOAD LANE.

The shared cycle / footways will be at least 3 metres in width. Pedestrians and cyclists will have joint shared use and will not be segregated.
