General

Corporation Road Bridge will be fully closed on Wednesday 5 July to allow for further scaffolding to be installed as works progress.

All the steel deck plates on the bridge have now been grit blasted. Some of the steel deck plates were found to have corroded more than anticipated so must be replaced. These are currently being manufactured.

Scaffolding has been erected on one section of the bridge, and to assist with the safe installation of the next section, a full footpath closure is required. The footpath will be closed to all pedestrians and cyclists on Wednesday 5 July, between 9am and 4pm. Advanced warning signs will be in place and pedestrians and cyclists will be diverted.

Further short duration footpath closures will be required as the work progresses and updates on this will be provided in due course. Temporary advanced warning signs will be erected.

Following the installation of scaffolding, the next section of works will be to the underside of the bridge, which includes high pressure steaming and cleaning, grit blasting, steelwork repairs and repainting.

North East Lincolnshire Council, its delivery partner, Equans and contractor Spencer Group, would like to thank the public for their patience whilst the work is being undertaken.
