The essential restoration works on Corporation Road Bridge is progressing.
Grit blasting has commenced to the superstructure of span four of the bridge whilst scaffolding is erected to the remainder of this section of works.
Essential clean blasting works are underway to the deck spans under the bridge’s control tower and footpath. To progress this further, another footpath closure is required to ensure the safety of the public and those working on site. The footpath on the bridge will be closed to all pedestrians and cyclists on Thursday 19 October and Friday 20 October between 9am and 4pm.
The contractor, Spencer Group, will also be working this weekend from 7.30am until 6pm on Saturday 21 October and from 8.30am until 5pm on Sunday 22 October to take advantage of low tides and allowing them access to the underside of the bridge. The footpath will be open during the weekend working.
Further short duration footpath closures will be needed as the work progresses and updates on this will be provided in due course. Temporary signs will be erected.
