EMERGENCY NOTICE 2023
WHEREAS the North East Lincolnshire Borough Council (hereinafter referred to as “the Council”), in exercise of its powers under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991 hereby make the following Emergency Notice the effect of which will be that no person shall cause or permit any motor vehicle from PROCEEDING along the below sections of highway:
LESTRANGE STREET – Part length, from its junction with GARNETT STREET to its junction with A180 GRIMSBY ROAD.
Alternative route: A180 GRIMSBY ROAD, CLEE ROAD, BRERETON AVENUE, LESTRANGE
STREET (reverse route applies)
This emergency prohibition is required to enable Cadent Gas to safely trace, excavate, repair a gas escape, then reinstate.
Access for Emergency Vehicles and refuse collections will be maintained.
The Interpretation Act 1978 shall apply in the interpretation of the Notice as it applies to the interpretation of an Act of Parliament.
The Notice shall come into operation on Monday, 09 January 2023 and shall continue for a period of 21 days unless extended by Order of the Secretary of State for Transport. The closure is expected to remain in place until Thursday, 12 January 2023.
