ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – SECTION 14(2)
FRIARGATE LEVEL CROSSING – FRIARGATE, GRIMSBY
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC – TTRN 22-195E) EMERGENCY NOTICE 2023
WHEREAS the North East Lincolnshire Borough Council (hereinafter referred to as “the Council”), in exercise of its powers under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991 hereby make the following Emergency Notice the effect of which will be that no person shall cause or permit any motor vehicle, cycle or pedestrian from PROCEEDING along the below sections of highway:
CARTERGATE – Part length, from a point 20 metres south of FRIARGATE LEVEL CROSSING to a point 20 metres north of FRIARGATE LEVEL CROSSING.
Alternative route: A1136 DEANSGATE, A1136 FREDERICK WARD WAY, CARTERGATE
This emergency prohibition is required to enable Network Rail to safely attend to rail defect safety issues.
The closures will be implemented overnight between 23:00hrs and 05:30hrs to minimise disruption to traffic.
There are no exemptions to the Order on the grounds of safety.
The Interpretation Act 1978 shall apply in the interpretation of the Notice as it applies to the interpretation of an Act of Parliament.
The Notice shall come into operation on Thursday, 02 March 2023 and shall continue for a period of 21 days unless extended by Order of the Secretary of State for Transport. The closure is expected to remain in place until 05:30hrs on Friday, 03 March 2023.
