The summer holidays may be drawing to a close, but there’s still plenty happening across North East Lincolnshire to keep families entertained before the new school term begins. From arts and crafts and sporting activities to community events, live entertainment and character meet-and-greets, there’s something for all ages to enjoy during the final week of the break.
North East Lincolnshire Council will continue sharing daily ideas and events across its social media channels, helping families make the most of the last few days of summer and create some special memories together before children head back to school.
Here are some of the activities taking place during the final week of the school holidays:
Monday, August 31: Enjoy the special final Picnic in the park. The Culture House partner with Freedom Festival Hull to bring Freedom on Tour to Grimsby, featuring four incredible international outdoor arts performances between 11am and 5pm. No need to book, just turn up with your picnic. Monday, August 31: Celebrate the music of the King of Pop with Man in the Mirror, an electrifying tribute to Michael Jackson. Featuring all the iconic hits, dazzling choreography and stunning visuals, it’s a spectacular night of entertainment that fans won’t want to miss. Man in The Mirror – Grimsby Auditorium
Monday, August 31: Lincs Inspire, Little Lincs Football – is a fun and friendly session for children aged 2 to 4 to learn the basics of football through play – and parents and carers can join in too! Tuesday, September 1: Immingham Sounds (every Tuesday), 6:30 to 8:30pm at the old Library Building, Pelham Road. Immingham Sounds is a free, welcoming music session for anyone aged 11 and over who loves making music. Wednesday, September 2: Join The Trin for an introduction of gym and movement for parents and toddlers aged 18 month – 4 years old. The sessions are from 10.15am to 11am, to book visit Tots Gym & Movement – Wednesday’s 10.15am till 11am → Cleethorpes Community Sports & Education
Thursday, September 3: Docks Doodles: Looking for a relaxed way to get creative? Join Docks Doodles, a free social art session where you can sketch, paint, doodle or work on your latest project while meeting like-minded people. Thursday, September 3: Get ready for a night of hard-hitting rock as Kickin’ Valentina bring their raw energy and powerful live show to Yardbirds. Friday, September 4: Porkpie at Docks Academy. Get ready for a night of ska classics and feel-good vibes as PorkPie bring their high-energy live show to Docks Academy. Saturday, September 5: BargeFest is back at Riverhead Square on Saturday 5 September, bringing a full day of live music, great food and good vibes. Saturday, September 5 (to September 12): Rainbow Over Sheffield is a powerful new play that takes audiences on an emotional journey filled with humour, heartbreak and hope. Sunday, September 6: Enjoy KPOP Fantasy at Grimsby Auditorium between 3pm and 6pm. It’s a high-energy theatrical celebration of the global phenomenon that is K-pop. Blending electrifying choreography with outstanding live vocals, this immersive stage show brings the spectacle, precision, and passion of K-pop to life in a thrilling theatre experience. Summer Reading Bingo with Lincs Inspire Libraries!
Eyes down for a full house – Get in the Game! Get Reading at Lincs Inspire Libraries this summer. Collect a sticker of a new library character every time a book is borrowed, including eBooks, eAudio and eMagazines. Bongo cards are packed with a variety of fun categories designed to challenge and expand children’s reading. Win fantastic prizes.

Cleethorpes Bowling – Leave no pin standing and enjoy a bowling session at Cleethorpes Ten-Pin Bowl. The 16-lane alley can provide bumpers and ball ramps for children so even the little ones can join in.
Over the past six weeks, North East Lincolnshire has been buzzing with activities, events and opportunities for families to enjoy together, from outdoor adventures and community celebrations to creative workshops and sporting fun. We hope our Play Together campaign has helped inspire residents to discover new places, try new activities and make the most of everything the area has to offer. As the holidays come to an end, there’s still time to enjoy a few more experiences and create some lasting summer memories before the new school year begins.
