North East Lincolnshire Council, EQUANS and Cycle Hub Lincs will host a series of Doctor Bike workshops.

Taking place at venues in Grimsby and Immingham, these events will help residents get their bikes out of the garage and back on the road.

The Doctor Bike team will be attending each event to carry out free bike safety checks. Their team of mechanics will be able to fix most minor repairs for free while you wait, or give you advice about how to go about getting more serious problems fixed.

The events will take place over a two-week period from the start of April:

  • Outside the County Hotel, Immingham – 5 April, 2.30pm
  • West Marsh Community Centre, Grimsby – 6 April, 3pm
  • Immingham Christian Centre, Immingham – 7 April, 3pm
  • Immingham Library – 13 April, 3pm
  • Duke of York Gardens, Grimsby – 14 April, 3pm

Cllr Stewart Swinburn, portfolio holder for environment and transport at North East Lincolnshire Council, said: “With the Cycle Superhighway in its final phase, we want to give cyclists the chance to give their bike a bit of TLC. The route, which is a new off-road cycle route linking the town of Immingham with the new Pioneer Business Park and the wider South Humber Bank, is designed to make commuting to work by bike safer and more convenient for residents in both Immingham and Grimsby. We are aware that many people will not have commuted before, so we want to help them get started by offering free bike safety checks, making sure their bicycles are in good condition ready for their journeys.”

To take part, please book a free ticket online at https://www.eventbrite.com/d/united-kingdom–grimsby/doctor-bike/.

Participants can book tickets for up to three bikes, each bike must have its own ticket.
