Business and investment

On Thursday, 19 December, Grimsby Top Town Market will host a second-hand stall, with items donated by members of Equans staff and local businesses in North East Lincolnshire with funds going to Andy’s Children’s Hospice.

There will be plenty of pre-loved items for anyone looking for a cheaper alternative to the high street this Christmas for your last-minute purchases, whilst providing vital funds to hospice care.

As a responsible business, Equans encourages its employees to take part in two days of volunteering activities each year, as well as organising fundraising activities for a local charity on a regular basis. Andy’s Children’s Hospice was chosen as this year’s charity of the year for 2024. To date, Equans have raised money for them through social activities such as a quiz night and taking part in sporting challenges including the Great Grimsby 10k and a 3 peaks challenge.

Emily Aitken, Head of Fundraising at St Andrews Hospice said: “As the hospice sector faces unprecedented funding challenges, fundraising has never been more crucial.

“Organisations like Equans, along with the generosity and support from our local community, play a vital role in helping us to continue to provide compassionate care to those who need it the most.  We are so grateful for every contribution, no matter the size, which helps ensure that our services remain accessible to all, now and in the future.”
