Essential improvement works on the A1173 between King’s Road roundabout and Kiln Lane roundabout in Immingham, including North Beck Bridge, are due to begin on Monday 24 August 2026.

Works to North Beck Bridge will include:
- Localised repairs to the top of bridge deck
- Re-waterproofing of the bridge
- Reconstruction of the bridge footpath
- Repairs to damaged parapets (safety barriers)
- Replacement of bridge expansion joints
The wider scheme will also include:
- Road resurfacing between King’s Road roundabout and Kiln Lane roundabout, including over the bridge

- Kerb replacement
- New road markings and road studs
- Vegetation clearance
The project is programmed to be completed by Friday 9 October 2026.
Monday 24 August and Tuesday 25 August
Preliminary works, including trial holes within the bridge section and vegetation clearance along the A1173, will be carried out under a full overnight road closure between 6pm and 5am on both dates.
Local diversion will be in place.
Tuesday 1 September to Friday 9 October
The main phase of works will include bridge repairs, waterproofing, footpath reconstruction, parapet repairs, replacement of expansion joints, drainage maintenance, kerb replacement, resurfacing, road lining and installation of road studs.
To allow the works to be carried out safely and efficiently, this phase will require a 24-hour full road closure. The diversion route for this work will be via A1173 Manby Road, A160, A180.
Access for pedestrians and cyclists will be maintained at all times.
These improvements will help extend the lifespan of both the bridge and road surface, reducing the need for future reactive maintenance and improving the reliability of the route for road users.
North East Lincolnshire Council and contractor Specialist Surfacing Ltd apologise for any inconvenience caused and thank residents, businesses and road users for their patience while these essential works are carried out. Every effort will be made to complete the scheme as quickly and safely as possible.
