Improvements to festive street lighting on St Peter’s Avenue

General

Works will be taking place next month to replace the festive streetlights along St Peter’s Avenue in Cleethorpes ahead of the festive season.

The works are essential as the existing street lighting columns have reached the end of the manufacturer’s ‘shelf life’ and need to be replaced to ensure the infrastructure remains in a safe condition.

The new street lighting columns will be installed at the back of the footpath, in the original locations of the old ones. Keeping them in these locations means they are less vulnerable to vehicle strikes and improve the accessibility for all users of the footpath.

Works will start on Monday 5 October and will be completed by Friday 16 October.

To allows these works to be completed safely and reduce disruption to residents and nearby businesses, overnight road closures will be in place on St Peter’s Avenue. Closures will be in place between High Street and Albert Road from 7pm until 6am each night.

Advanced warning signs and a signed diversion route will be in place during the closure. Emergency access will be maintained.

The works will be overseen by engineers at ENGIE and carried out by street lighting contractor, J McCann & Co.
