North East Lincolnshire residents who use oil to heat their homes are being urged to join a scheme that gets them the best price.
The Bulk Oil Buying Scheme has now been expanded to the borough’s residents after originally serving rural communities in North Lincolnshire.
Members of the scheme get the best price by combining their total oil order and asking suppliers to quote their best price. An order is then made by the group running the scheme – Humber Wolds Rural Community – and each member pays the supplier directly.
As the group only gets one price, the same savings are made irrespective of the quantity of the order.
In addition to householders, village halls, churches and businesses can also join the scheme.
The council is offering free membership for the first 50 members from North East Lincolnshire (membership is normally £20 per year). For more information and to join the scheme, visit www.hwrcc.org.uk/north-lincs-bulk-oil-buying-scheme
