Smart energy project

A project created after North East Lincolnshire Council had been awarded the European Union, European Regional Develop Funding (ERDF).

The project aimed to promote, innovate, and adopt energy efficiency and renewable energy.

£5.4m of the funding from the ERDF was used to boost renewable energy use in small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), council and other public sector owned buildings in the area.

Along with private sector investment, the funding set up a one stop shop to provide energy and low carbon services for SMEs, as well as facilitating large scale investment in public infrastructure.

Smart Energy, Greater Lincolnshire started at the beginning of April 2018 and was completed on 30 September 2021.

A wide range of measures have been implemented across the sites from LED lights, Solar PV, building management systems, heating systems, insulation to glazing and much more! This will enable us to reduce our energy costs and carbon emissions.

This would not have been possible without the funding from the European Regional development fund and Salix finance.
