Our green future
It’s more important than ever to plan for a sustainable future in North East Lincolnshire. We are starting to see great progress with new investments in renewable energy, but we also need to think green in our daily lives, from recycling and using clean energy to protecting our open spaces.
Let’s work together to make our borough greener and healthier for everyone.
Our priorities
North East Lincolnshire’s latest Council Plan highlights our key areas of focus.
Our green ambition
We’re committed to cutting our organisation’s carbon emissions to net zero by 2030.
Natural assets
NEL is a place of rich nature and heritage and we will work to protect it.
Parks and open spaces
We will be working to ensure these areas are vibrant, welcoming and a hub of activity.
Waste and recycling
We are making sure that we limit the waste we produce and reuse and recycle where we can.
What we’re doing to achieve this
We’re a key player in the renewable energy revolution.
Our vision is that by 2032, North East Lincolnshire will be nationally and internationally recognised as the UK’s leading region for low-carbon energy and the UK capital of the renewable energy industry.
And we’re making an impact
