Prax Lindsey Oil Refinery, part of the multinational oil refining, storage and distribution company The Prax Group, is located in North Lincolnshire in the UK. Sector Support North East Lincolnshire Partnership (SSNEL) is run by Forum CIO (previously named Northbank Forum for Voluntary Organisations), which delivers projects and services across Yorkshire and the Humber. It has been funded by Humber and North Yorkshire Integrated Care Board (ICB) and NEL Council since April 1st 2016.

Sector Support offers a range of help and advice on issues like funding, governance, safeguarding and volunteering as well as training courses and events, to support anyone working in the voluntary and community sector. This includes social enterprises, from start-ups and small groups to large charities and it’s all free!

Education and training

We have 65 schools in North East Lincolnshire, from nursery up to secondary, including SEND specialist provisions – 87 per cent of schools were graded as either good or outstanding by Ofsted in 2023.

North East Lincolnshire also has seven Further Education colleges and sixth forms, and a local university centre, with the University of Hull and Lincoln University nearby.

With the growing renewable energy sector creating thousands of skilled jobs in the region, we also have specialist facilities training the engineers of the future at CATCH and HETA.

What makes us unique?

We’re home to the world’s largest offshore wind farm, find out more about the Power of Grimsby on CBS News.
It might not be his best-known track, but in 1974 Elton John recorded a song about Grimsby, written by his long-time collaborator Bernie Taupin, who’s from nearby Market Rasen.
That’s not the area’s only musical claim to fame. Rod Temperton, the producer of Thriller, the biggest-selling album of all time, and countless other hits is from Cleethorpes.
Grimsby’s world-famous docks are celebrated in miniature at Legoland Windsor and the actual docks are a filming location for movies, TV shows and commercials.
Legend has it that the town was founded by a Viking called Grim who rescued the Danish Prince Havelock from drowning in the sea.
Bit random, but Cleethorpes is home to what’s claimed to be the smallest pub on the planet and the world’s biggest collection of bagpipes.
Grimsby Community Recycling Centre is the best tip in the country and we don’t think you’ll find better-looking bin lorries anywhere.
Grimsby Town FC is the only team to play all their matches away – the home ground, Blundell Park, is actually in Cleethorpes.
