Residents and community supporters came together for an afternoon of fundraising at the Mayor of North East Lincolnshire’s Garden Party, raising an impressive £964 for her chosen charities, Bob’s Brainwaves and the RNLI.
Bob’s Brainwaves is a charity offering support and advice to those who are suffering or have family members who have been diagnosed with dementia. Founder Chris Suich began the charity after her husband, Bob, was diagnosed with the condition himself.
RNLI is a national charity that helps save lives at sea. They do this through life boat search and rescue, lifeguards, water safety and education.
Hosted by the Mayor, Cllr Marian Boyd, the Garden Party was well attended and provided guests with the opportunity to enjoy refreshments and good company in a relaxed garden setting, all while supporting two worthwhile causes.
The Mayor thanked everyone who attended, volunteered and donated, helping to make the event such a success.
She said: “I am delighted that our Garden Party was so well supported by residents, local organisations and friends. It was a fantastic afternoon enjoyed by all and I would like to thank everyone who contributed so generously.
“Raising £964 for Bob’s Brainwaves and the RNLI is a wonderful achievement and will help support the invaluable work carried out by both charities.”
