Monday 19 September: service updates for the bank holiday

Monday 19 September – has been declared as a bank holiday for Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II’s state funeral. A round up of service changes and other useful information from North East Lincolnshire Council and partners is below.

Council offices will close for the day. Normal Bank Holiday arrangements will apply for most services.

Marriage and bereavement services: will be operational only where families wish to continue with existing arrangements.

Waste collection: will be operational, but will be paused during the period of the state funeral (11am to 12 noon) as a mark of respect.

Grimsby and Immingham Community Recycling Centres will be open between 8am and 4pm. A minute’s silence will be held at 11am.

Homelessness support: normal bank holiday arrangements. Call 01472 326296 for emergencies.

Adult social care: normal arrangements. Contact the single point of access if required – 01472 256256

Libraries and leisure (Lincs Inspire): closed

Traffic and travel

Phone and Ride service: closed. Normal Phone ‘n’ Ride service will resume on Tuesday 20 September. For further information, please visit: https://www.nelincs.gov.uk/streets-travel-and-parking/travel-and-public-transport/phone-n-ride/

Dial a Ride: will not be operating on Monday 19 September. Normal Dial a Ride service will resume on Tuesday 20 September.

Local Train Information (North East Lincolnshire Council cannot be responsible for any problems caused by errors or changes in information given)

Northern (Barton Upon Humber to Cleethorpes)

No planned alterations.

East Midlands Railway (Newark / Lincoln to Grimsby Town)

East Midlands Railway will be running its full timetable throughout this time and providing as many seats as possible. For further information, please visit http://www.eastmidlandsrailway.co.uk/

TransPennine Express route (Manchester to Cleethorpes)

TransPennine Express, alongside our industry partners, will work hard to enable people to pay their respects by running a normal service. They expect services to be very busy during this time so ask people to check before they travel, plan ahead and leave plenty of time for your journey.
