The Council are continuing to support victims of Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) and reducing the impact across the borough.
Renewing their The ASB Pledge, ran by the charity ASB Help, they will build upon their work on reducing crime and making the community safer. The charity was first established in 2013, set up following the tragic passing of a mother and daughter who suffered from prolonged ASB in 2007.
Now, the charity works with various organisations across the country to make sure everyone does as much as possible to combat any form of ASB.
North East Lincolnshire Council joined that list of organisations to build on what is already a successful model in making the community feel safe in 2021 and have now renewed their pledge.
The pledge considers six main aims:
1. Promote awareness by actively encouraging the use of the ASB Case Review to residents and partner agencies.
2. Legislation and Best Practice: Adhering to the legislation and follow the statutory guidance in their ASB Case Review policy and procedures.
3. Ensure accessibility: Providing a clear ASB Case Review application form and process which is available in several different formats to ensure it is accessible to all.
4. Delivery and continuous improvement: Embrace the full potential of the ASB Case Review by regularly reviewing and refreshing the process, evolving in line with best practice, evaluating feedback and making any necessary improvements to develop the process.
5. Get talking: Sharing information between agencies and strengthening communication with ASB victims and between agencies. Using the ASB Case Review to work collaboratively with partner agencies to problem solve and secure a resolution.
6. Empowerment: Ensuring ASB victims are actively listened to and given a voice in the ASB Case Review process
In addition, the Council have appointed an independent ASB Case Review chair and Victim Champion who both ensure victims of ASB are getting the support they need from local organisations.

“The Council are already taking huge steps forward in helping victims and ensuring residents have a simple way of reporting ASB should they be affected by it. Renewing our pledge only strengthens our intentions and we’re pleased to continue working with a national body to go that extra mile.”
