Northern Powergrid is set to replace an essential power cable that runs beneath several key roads in Grimsby town centre.

The affected roads include Victoria Street North, Alexandra Road, Corporation Road, and Alexandra Dock Bridge (A180).  The project will be delivered in phases. Details of the first phase are outlined below, with information about subsequent phases to follow.

Phase One: Victoria Street North

Work will begin on Monday 22 September, starting from the substation next to Allenby Stevenson and continuing to Lockhill Roundabout. This phase is expected to take approximately four weeks to complete.

Two-way traffic will be maintained wherever possible.  The use of two-way temporary traffic signals may be needed for some periods to ensure the safety of the workforce and the public using the road.

There will be a lane closure approaching Lockhill Roundabout and pedestrians will be directed to use an alternative footpath.

Businesses in the area will remain open throughout the works, with access maintained at all times.

For more information on the works, please contact Norther Powergrid on 0800 011 3332.
