NOTICE OF CASUAL VACANCY IN THE OFFICE OF COUNCILLOR (SCARTHO WARD)

NORTH  EAST  LINCOLNSHIRE  COUNCIL

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN under Section 87(2) of the Local Government Act 1972 that a casual vacancy exists in the office of Councillor for the Scartho Ward of the Borough of North East Lincolnshire arising from the recent resignation of Councillor Nici.

An election will be held if two electors from the area request, in writing, that the Returning Officer commence the procedure to hold an election to fill the vacancy.

Where two valid requests for an election are received by the Returning Officer before 21^st March 2021, then under the provisions of the Coronavirus Act 2020 and the Local Government and Police and Crime Commissioner (Coronavirus)(Postponement of Elections and Referendums)(England and Wales) Regulations 2020, the election will be held on Thursday, 6th May 2021.
