Improved bus shelters are leading the way to improving bus journeys for passengers.
Seven new bus shelters are being delivered across Grimsby, Immingham and Cleethorpes through the Bus Service Improvement Plan (BSIP) to help improve the overall journey.
The new shelters offer better seating, better protection during bad weather conditions and through their design they help to reduce the impacts of Anti-Social behaviour (ASB). With hardened windows and easy to clean sides, it makes it more difficult for them to be targeted which in turn helps create a more welcoming space for bus passengers.
Shelters will be situated on:
- Pelham Road, Immingham – two new shelters
- Three on Kingsway, Cleethorpes – three new shelters
- Wingate Road, Grimsby – one new shelter
- Louth Road – one new shelter
Councillor Stewart Swinburn, Portfolio Holder for Transport, Housing and Infrastructure, said: “This is a welcomed improvement to the buses.
“We’re always looking to do whatever we can to make the journey better for everyone and we’ll keep doing so.
“The residents who live and work in the borough keep the area moving and this is just one way of making their day as easy and comfortable as possible.”
