The Immingham & Habrough Pride in Place programme has been expanded to include Stallingborough, creating a stronger and more connected approach to regeneration, investment and opportunity across the wider area.

Residents, businesses and community groups in Immingham, Habrough and Stallingborough are being encouraged to have their say on the future of their communities as part of the Government-funded programme, which will bring £20m of investment over the next 10 years.

Throughout August, a series of pop-up engagement events are taking place across Immingham & Habrough, giving local people the opportunity to share their views on what they love about their communities, the challenges they face, and how the area could be improved for current and future generations.

The Pride in Place initiative aims to work closely with residents, businesses and community organisations to identify local priorities and develop plans that help make Immingham, Habrough and Stallingborough even better places to live, work and visit.

The inclusion of Stallingborough reflects the area’s close economic and community links to Immingham and Habrough and will help ensure investment is planned across the full electoral ward. It also strengthens opportunities to connect regeneration activity with skills, employment and training opportunities.

The area is closely linked to key training assets including HETA and CATCH, which support apprenticeships, engineering skills development and the next generation of industrial talent. Bringing Stallingborough into the programme will help strengthen links between young people, schools, training providers and employers, ensuring local residents are well placed to benefit from opportunities being created across the South Humber Bank.

Andy Hopkins, Chair of the Pride in Place Immingham & Habrough Neighbourhood Board, said:

“We want to hear directly from the people who know these communities best. Whether it’s improving local facilities, enhancing green spaces, supporting community activities or identifying opportunities for future investment, every opinion matters.

“The inclusion of Stallingborough strengthens the programme and reflects how our communities work in practice. It allows us to take a genuinely place-based approach that supports long-term pride, prosperity and opportunity across Immingham, Habrough and Stallingborough.”

Representatives from the project team, including Elaine Norton, Vice Chair of the Board, are attending a range of venues, community facilities and local events to gather feedback from residents of all ages.

This engagement builds on the Immingham Town Plan consultation work carried out last year and will provide a starting point for the next phase of community discussions. Feedback gathered from the community will help inform the development of a 10-year Regeneration Plan and a four-year Investment Plan, both key requirements of the Pride in Place programme.

The Immingham & Habrough Neighbourhood Board is also considering a number of initial “quick win” projects while wider engagement continues across the area.

Residents can drop in to any of the following engagement sessions. The list has now been updated:

  • Wednesday 19 August, 12pm to 3.30pm, Social Café, Kennedy Way, Immingham
