Temporary closure of steps behind Memorial Gate in Cleethorpes

General

Work will begin tomorrow (Wednesday 10 April) for approximately 10 days to re-render the walls and steps leading down to the Central Prom behind the Memorial Gate in Cleethorpes.

Due to the nature of the work, the steps will be closed off to public use for the full duration of the works. The closest alternative pathways between the Central Prom and Pier Gardens are available at Jonny Donuts or ramped access at the Pelican waterfall or Brighton slipway.

The three businesses at the steps will remain open as normal, though there may be localised restrictions at times.

The rendering is being completed ahead of a new mural being applied to the wall as part of the Paint the Town Proud project. The mural creation will be led by Creative Start in Arts CIC, with lead artists Sam Delaney, Kevin Atkins and Kathleen Smith. They will be supported by a team of volunteers including members of Creative Start CIC and Armed Forces Veterans.

The Council would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused.
