THE NORTH EAST LINCOLNSHIRE BOROUGH COUNCIL

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 (SPECIAL EVENTS) – SECTION 16A

ARMED FORCES WEEKEND 2022 (INCLUDING CARNIVAL), CLEETHORPES

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF STOPPING & TOW AWAY ZONE – TTRO 22-053A) ORDER 2022

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the North East Lincolnshire Borough Council intends to make, not less than seven days from the date of this Notice, an Order, the effect of which will be that:

a) no person shall cause or permit any motor vehicle to ‘STOP’ on the lengths of highway during the dates and times specified in Schedule 1:1 (‘NO STOPPING’)

This temporary ‘No Stopping’ prohibition is required to ensure safe, free flow of diverted traffic and emergency access during the Armed Forces Weekend. Exemptions will be for authorised vehicles only.

b) no person shall cause or permit any motor vehicle to ‘STOP’ on the lengths of highway during the dates and times specified in Schedule 1:2 (‘NO STOPPING, TOW AWAY ZONE’)

This temporary ‘No Stopping’ prohibition is required to ensure safe, clear, unobstructed access during the preparation and execution of the Armed Forces Day parade. Exemptions will be for authorised vehicles only.

c) any motor vehicle found to be ‘STOPPED’ in those lengths of highway specified in Schedule 1:2 will be towed in accordance with the designated ‘TOW AWAY ZONE’.

The Order will come into operation on Friday, 24 June 2022, and will continue in force for a period not exceeding three days unless extended for a further period by the Secretary of State for Transport, or until completion of the event (whichever is the earlier). The ‘No Stopping’ prohibitions are expected to remain in place until no later than 23:59hrs on Sunday, 26 June 2022.  Definitive dates and times will be notified by on-site advanced warning signs.

The dates and times above are correct at the point of print however implementation on site may vary due to unforeseen circumstances. Diversion routes will be signposted and published online on One Network and Public notices.

From 06:00hrs on Friday 24th June until 23:59hrs on Sunday 26th June 2022

  • ST PETERS AVENUE – from its junction with ALBERT ROAD to its roundabout junction with MILL ROAD / CAMBRIDGE ROAD.
  • ST PETERS AVENUE (NORTHBOUND CARRIAGEWAY LANE) – from its junction with A1098 ISAACS HILL / HIGH STREET to its junction with ALBERT ROAD.

SCHEDULE 1:2 – ‘NO STOPPING, TOW AWAY ZONE’

From 06:00hrs on Friday 24th June until 23:59hrs on Saturday 25th June 2022

  • STATION ROAD – part length, from the entrance to CLEETHORPES RAIL STATION CAR PARK to its intersection with GRANT STREET.
  • GRANT STREET – part length, from its intersection with STATION ROAD to its roundabout junction with A1098 ALEXANDRA ROAD / HIGH STREET.
  • A1098 ALEXANDRA ROAD – full extent, from its roundabout junction with A1098 HIGH STREET / GRANT STREET to its roundabout junction with A1098 HIGH CLIFF ROAD / SEA VIEW STREET.
  • A1098 HIGH CLIFF ROAD – part length, from its junction with A1098 ALEXANDRA ROAD / SEA VIEW STREET to its junction with HUMBER STREET.
  • KNOLL STREET – full extent, from its junction with A1098 ALEXANDRA ROAD to its junction with CAMBRIDGE STREET.
  • CAMBRIDGE STREET – full extent, from its roundabout junction with ST PETERS AVENUE to its junction with HIGHGATE / HUMBER STREET
  • HUMBER STREET – full extent, from its junction with A1098 CLIFF ROAD to its junction with HIGHGATE / CAMBRIDGE STREET
