THE NORTH EAST LINCOLNSHIRE BOROUGH COUNCIL

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 (SPECIAL EVENTS) – SECTION 16A

ARMED FORCES WEEKEND 2024 (INCLUDING CARNIVAL), CLEETHORPES (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF STOPPING RESTRICTION 2024)

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the North East Lincolnshire Borough Council have made, an Order, the effect of which will be that:

a) no person shall cause or permit any motor vehicle to ‘STOP’ on the lengths of highway during the dates and times specified in Schedule 1:1 (‘NO STOPPING’)

This temporary ‘No Stopping’ prohibition is required to ensure safe, free flow of diverted traffic and emergency access during the Armed Forces Weekend. Exemptions will be for authorised vehicles only.

b) The temporary revocation of the 7.5 tonne Weight Limit (except for access) restriction is required to temporarily allow HGV access to Grant Street businesses during the preparation and execution of the Armed Forces Day parade.

This temporary ‘No Waiting’ prohibition is required to ensure safe, clear, unobstructed access during the preparation and execution of the Armed Forces Day parade. Exemptions will be for authorised vehicles only.

The Order will come into operation on Friday, 28 June 2024, and will continue in force for a period not exceeding three days unless extended for a further period by the Secretary of State for Transport, or until completion of the event (whichever is the earlier). The No Stopping prohibitions are expected to remain in place until Sunday, 30 June 2024. Definitive dates and times will be notified by on-site advanced warning signs.

The dates and times above are correct at the point of print however implementation on site may vary due to unforeseen circumstances. Diversion routes will be signposted and published online on One Network and Public notices.

From 06:00hrs on Friday 28th June 2024 until 23:59hrs on Sunday 30th June 2024.

  • ST PETERS AVENUE – from its junction with ALBERT ROAD to its roundabout junction with MILL ROAD / CAMBRIDGE ROAD.
  • ST PETERS AVENUE (NORTHBOUND CARRIAGEWAY LANE) – from its junction with ALBERT ROAD heading in a northerly direction to the junction of ISAACS HILL / HIGH STREET.
