THE NORTH EAST LINCOLNSHIRE BOROUGH COUNCIL

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – SECTION 14(1)(a)

GARDEN STREET LEVEL CROSSING – GARDEN STREET, GRIMSBY

(TEMPORARY PROHIBTION OF TRAFFIC – TTRO 22-183) ORDER 2023

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the North East Lincolnshire Borough Council intends to make, not less than seven days from the date of this Notice, an Order, the effect of which will be that no person shall cause or permit any motor vehicle, pedestrian or cycle from PROCEEDING along the below sections of highway:

  • A section of GARDEN STREET – Part Length, from a point 20 metres north of GARDEN STREET LEVEL CROSSING to a point 20 metres south of GARDEN STREET LEVEL CROSSING.

Alternative route 1: OSBORNE STREET, SOUTH ST MARYS GATE, BETHLEHEM STREET, CHURCH LANE, DEANSGATE, BARGATE, WELHOLME ROAD, AINSLIE STREET, GARDEN STREET.

Alternative route 2: GARDEN STREET, AINSLIE STREET, WELHOLME ROAD, BARGATE, DEANSGATE, CHUCH LANE, BETHLEHEM STREET, SOUTH ST MARYS GATE, GARDEN STREET.  

This temporary prohibition is required because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road by Network Rail.  These works are detailed as the repair of rail defect safety issues at level crossing.

Works will be undertaken overnight between 23:00hrs and 05:30hrs to minimise disruption to traffic.

The Order will come into operation on Monday, 27 February 2023, and will continue in force for a period not exceeding 18 months unless extended for a further period by the Secretary of State for Transport, or until completion of the works (whichever is the earlier). The closure is expected to remain in place until 05:30hrs on Tuesday, 28 February 2023. Definitive dates and times will be notified by on-site advanced warning signs.

The dates and times above are correct at the point of print however implementation on site may vary due to unforeseen circumstances. Diversion routes will be signposted and published online on One Network and Public notices.
