A1243 BARGATE, GRIMSBY
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITON OF TRAFFIC AND TEMPORARY ONE WAY SUSPENSION – TTRO (24-044) ORDER 2024
a) NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the North East Lincolnshire Borough Council have made, an Order, the effect of which will be that no person shall cause or permit any motor vehicle, pedestrian or cycle from PROCEEDING along the below sections of highways:
- A section of A1243 BARGATE – from the junction of A1136 DUDLEY STREET heading in a south westerly direction to the junction of PELHAM ROAD, for a distance of 80 metres.
- A section of PELHAM ROAD – from the junction of A1243 BARGATE heading in a north westerly direction to the south eastern boundary of 4 PELHAM ROAD, for a distance of 25 metres.
- A section of A1136 DUDLEY STREET – from the junction of A1243 BARGATE heading in a north westerly direction to the north eastern boundary of WILLOW CARE HOME for a distance of 65 metres.
- A section of CATERGATE – from the junction of A1136 DUDLEY STREET heading in a north westerly direction to the junction of PRINCES AVENUE, for a distance of 50 metres.
- A section of GROSVENOR STREET – from the junction of A1136 DEANSGATE heading in a south easterly direction to the south western boundary of 17 GROSVENOR STREET, for a distance of 20 metres.
- A1136 DEANSGATE – Full extent
- A1136 FREDERICK WARD WAY – from the intersection of A1136 DEANSGATE heading in a northerly direction to the junction of CATERGATE.
- A section of CHURCH LANE – from the junction of A1136 FREDERICK WARD WAY heading in a easterly direction to the junction of WELLOWGATE, for a distance of 100 metres.
Alternative route: A1243 Bargate, A46 Laceby Road, Little Coates Road, A1136 Yarborough Road, A1136 Cromwell Road (reverse route applies)
Alternative route 2 : A1243 Bargate, A46 Weelsby Road, A16 Peaks Parkway, A1136 Frederick Ward Way (reverse route applies)
b) that the permanent one-way traffic restriction along the below sections of highway is temporarily suspended and the length of carriageway reverted to two-way traffic flow, to enable access for local residents.
- A section of CATERGATE – from the junction of CHANTRY LANE heading in a southerly direction to the junction of PRINCES AVENUE.
This temporary prohibition is required because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road by NELC. These works are detailed as the NELC Highways maintenance scheme.
The Order will come into operation on Monday 15 July 2024, and will continue in force for a period not exceeding 18 months unless extended for a further period by the Secretary of State for Transport, or until completion of the works (whichever is the earlier). The closure is expected to remain in place until Saturday 19 October 2024. Definitive dates and times will be notified by on-site advanced warning signs.
The dates and times above are correct at the point of print however implementation on site may vary due to unforeseen circumstances. Diversion routes will be signposted and published online on One Network and Public notices.
