Week five of the summer holidays is packed with fun for families across North East Lincolnshire

From sports sessions and sensory play for little ones to theatre shows, creative workshops, family fun days and live music events, there are plenty of affordable and free activities taking place across the borough during the fifth week of the school holidays. Whether you’re looking to keep active, get creative, enjoy quality family time or discover something new, there’s something for all ages to enjoy.

To help families discover what’s happening on their doorstep, North East Lincolnshire Council will continue sharing daily ideas and events across its social media channels throughout the school holidays.

If you’re an organisation or community group with an event coming up, email communications@nelincs.gov.uk and we’ll help spread the word. Please mark your email ‘Play Together’.

By showcasing the wide range of activities available locally, we hope to encourage more families to get out, get active, try something new and have fun together. It’s also a great opportunity to meet new people, discover new hobbies and make lasting summer memories.

Here are some of the highlights taking place from Monday 24 August to Sunday 30 August:

Monday, August 24: The Trin are offering many activities as part of their Summer Holiday Club, including TOTS gymnastics, fairplay football sessions and boxing sessions. For more info, and to book a place visit Trin Summer Holiday Club 2026 → Cleethorpes Community Sports & Education

Monday, August 24: Shake, Rattle and Read. Sensory session at 10am at Cleethorpes LibraryEnjoy circus themed stories, plenty of singing, music and dancing this August at Lincs Inspire Libraries Shake Rattle and Read sessions for toddlers and babies. Tuesday, August 25: Tom Fletcher’s The Dinosaur That Pooped at Grimsby Auditorium. 12:30 pm and 3:30pm. Adapted from the number 1 best-selling books by Tom Fletcher and Dougie Poynter, the whole family will have a poopy good time enjoying a brand, new story for the stage. Featuring new songs by Tom and Dougie, a lot of laughs and a whole lot of poo! Book your tickets: Tom Fletchers – The Dinosaur That Pooped – Grimsby Auditorium 

Tuesday, August 25: Fashion Illustration with Meadowsweet & Myrtle at Our Big Picture, Grimsby, 12:30 – 3pm. Free for ages 11 to 16. For more workshops and to book, please visit: https://ourbigpicture.co.uk/

Wednesday, August 26: Immingham Summer Fun Day. A fun-filled day for the whole family from 10am to 2pm, with activities, games, prizes and information about local support and services available through Family Hubs.

Wednesday, August 26: Summer Events at The Social Cafe in Immingham – K-Pop Dance Party at the Cafe – Enjoy an hour of K-Pop, learn the dances, sing the songs and have a blast! 10:30am to 12pm. Wednesday, August 26: LEGO ® heaven for families with BrickBox – A summer themed workshop for children on Wednesdays throughout August from 10am to 12pm, and 1pm to 3pm. This session: back by popular demand after sell-out sessions earlier in the year, are LEGO® experts BrickBox – who will help you create a perfect summer build. Add to our play park or beach bases with your own creations and show us what your ideal summer would look like. £3 per child, ages 4+, no need to book.

Thursday, August 27: Little Lincs Play. There’s more fun for toddlers, with older siblings also welcome during the holidays at Little Lincs Play at Cleethorpes Leisure Centre from 9:30am to 11:30am. Featuring soft play, messy play, bouncy castle, sing time and crafts corner. £5.90 per child. This session is free for junior members. Friday, August 28: Summer events at The Social Café in Immingham Toy Story’s Woody visits the Cafefrom 10.30am to 12pm. Ticket prices are £2.50 for babies under 1, and £6.50 for children over 1. To purchase tickets, and for more info visit Events | The Social Cafe

Saturday, August 29: Shake, Rattle and Read. Circus themed stories, plenty of singing, music and dancing this August at Lincs Inspire Libraries Shake Rattle and Read sessions for toddlers and babies. No need to book, just turn up. £2.50 per child, and £2 per additional siblings.

Saturday, August 29 & Sunday, August 30: Shop Local Fest 2026 – Grassroots Music Festival at Grimsby Rugby Club with local acts: Saturday: Healer, Lola and the Cosmic Getaway, Shines, Kid Spirit, Sandra’s Wedding, Jaz Beeson, Bohemia, Wheelhouse, Swells, The Shade, Brad Arliss and Ash & Browny. Sunday: Ever, Ming City Rockers, Mint, Vigilantes, The Finest Hour, Bungalow, The Loving Memory, Roulette, The Blundells, Riverwolf, Brother Dust and Silver Bullet. Day ticket £25, weekend ticket £40. Sunday, August 30: In Good Hands Farmers Market – Come down to Lower Kingsway, Cleethorpes between 9am to 3pm and enjoy all the fresh produce from Fruit and Veggies, Sourdough Breads, all the Cheeses and Chutneys, Fresh Hot Coffee, Loads of delicious Cakes and Cookies, Pies, Pasties and Scotch Eggs, Plus fresh Meats and Sausages!

For a week that is anything but boring, head to your Lincs Inspire leisure centre – they’re packed with things to do. Swimming – Immingham Pool also has a 2 for 1 entry for juniors throughout the summer holidays 

  • Inflatable – Cleethorpes has regular inflatable sessions 
  • Aqua Disco – Friday nights at Cleethorpes Leisure Centre 
  • Roller Disco – Saturday nights at Cleethorpes Leisure Centre 
  • Badminton – racquet sports, great for playing with mates 
  • Junior Gym – regular sessions for 11 years plus – induction required.

Summer Reading Bingo with Lincs Inspire Libraries! 

Eyes down for a full house – Get in the Game! Get Reading at Lincs Inspire Libraries this summer. Collect a sticker of a new library character every time a book is borrowed, including eBooks, eAudio and eMagazines. Bongo cards are packed with a variety of fun categories designed to challenge and expand children’s reading. Win fantastic prizes.  

Reading Bingo ends on 28th September – so there is still plenty of time! Children and young adults up to the age of 16 years old can take part. Sign up in your Lincs Inspire Library. Summer Reading Bingo – Lincs Inspire

Cleethorpes Bowling – Leave no pin standing and enjoy a bowling session at Cleethorpes Ten-Pin Bowl. The 16-lane alley can provide bumpers and ball ramps for children so even the little ones can join in. 

Love Exploring App – Discover the Mega Mini Beasts in parks across North East Lincolnshire! This newly launched game on the Love Exploring App shows you giant augmented reality mini beasts including beetles, ladybirds and butterflies.  You can even hunt Woodland Fairies on another game on the App. FREE 

Grimsby Ice Rink – Play it cool with an ice-skating session at Grimsby Ice Rink! Open daily with public sessions, family fun skating and a regular ice disco, it’s definitely the place to cool down if it’s hot and sunny outside! 

With so much happening across North East Lincolnshire this summer, there’s plenty of opportunities for families to get active, try something new and make lasting memories.
