North East Lincolnshire Council and its delivery partner, Equans, begin the final phase of work on the Broadway rain gardens which will consist of weeding and new planting of the gardens.

Weeding of the area began on Monday 25 November, and this will be followed by the planting, which is due to be finished before Christmas. These works are expected to cause only minor disruption with local traffic signage required. There will be no need for road closures or traffic lights, and access will be maintained to all properties throughout the works.

The planting is to be carried out using species suitable for the type of conditions associated with rain gardens, and these will also provide some plant coverage throughout the year. Once complete, the planting will help create a greener, more resilient street that enhances local biodiversity while managing rainwater runoff effectively.
