North East Lincolnshire Council Family Hubs are hosting Mini First Aid courses across the borough over the coming months, giving parents, carers and families the opportunity to build confidence and learn practical first aid skills focused on babies and children.

Mini First Aid is a multi‑award‑winning provider of paediatric first aid training, known for delivering sessions that are relaxed, friendly and easy to understand, helping people feel prepared to respond calmly if an emergency happens.

The courses are specifically designed for families and those caring for young children, focusing on common first aid situations involving babies and children. The sessions aim to increase confidence and knowledge, empowering parents and carers to feel better equipped to deal with both minor injuries and more serious incidents.

Family Hubs are community spaces that are open to everyone, offering support, information and activities for families at all stages of life. Hosting Mini First Aid courses within Family Hubs makes these important skills more accessible, bringing high‑quality training into the heart of local communities. It reinforces the hubs’ role as welcoming and inclusive places where families can gain practical skills that support children’s safety and wellbeing.

The planned courses are currently booked in for:-

  • Central Family Hub – Wednesday 13 May, 12:00 to 2:30pm
  • East Marsh Family Hub – Thursday 4 June, 12:00 to 2:30pm
  • Nunsthorpe Family Hub – Wednesday 8 July, 12:00 to 2:30pm
  • Immingham Family Hub – Monday 21 September, 12:00 to 2:30pm
  • West Marsh Family Hub – Thursday 12th November 12.00-2.30pm
  • Reynolds Family Hub – Friday 4 December, 12:00 to 2:30pm

Ann-Marie Matson, Director of Children’s Services said:

“Being able to access this kind of training in a familiar, supportive setting can make a real difference for families, particularly those who may feel anxious about handling medical situations involving their children.”

“These sessions offer a valuable opportunity for families across North East Lincolnshire to gain confidence‑building first aid skills in a welcoming, local environment and I would encourage anybody with young children to look at joining a course at their local family.”

Zoe Reddin, joint owner of Mini First Aid Lincolnshire North & Doncaster said:

“I am absolutely delighted to be delivering Mini First Aid’s Baby & Child First Aid classes at the North East Lincolnshire Council’s Family Hubs. As a parent myself, I understand how important it is for everyone with a family to have some First Aid knowledge.

Our Baby & Child First Aid Class is informative but delivered in a relaxed environment, we hope to see you there.”

If you would like to book onto one of the courses, you should contact the Family Hub directly who can confirm your booking. Pre-crawling babies are welcome to attend with their parent or guardian.
