Summer holiday events; activities….and fun! North East Lincolnshire Council highlights the huge number of things going on to help everyone enjoy their summer.
Open spaces, sports, games, events, clubs, youth centres, walking groups, dancing, singing, cycling, running or just meeting others for a chat – what’s on your holiday list?
From Monday, and every day during the school holidays, North East Lincolnshire Council will be using its social media pages to give young people and families ideas to enjoy loads of activities.
There’s tonnes going on and we thought it would be a good idea to provide a platform for groups and organisations to promote what they are doing for children, young people, carers and parents, and grandparents.
So, if you’re an organisation or group and have something going on, email [email protected] and we will make sure you get a mention. Please mark your email ‘Play Together’.
The idea is that by showing everyone what’s going on, we can get people together to play, to move and to have fun. There’s also the chance to meet new people and enjoy a hobby for the first time.
Cllr Nigel Oliver, council Portfolio Holder for Health, Wellbeing and Adult Social Care, said: “There are so many great things going on in clubs, centres and groups right across North East Lincolnshire, let’s just make sure as many people as possible know what’s going on – not just in the summer, but the whole year round.”
Just look at some of things we know are going on in the first week:
Monday, July 27 onwards: From today and until 4 September, Fusion Summer Holiday Club is running on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 9.30am until 2.30pm – featuring sports, games, arts & crafts, team challenges, themed activities and special events. Tuesday July 28: Youth Lego Club at Centre4, 17a Wootton Road, Grimsby 4pm – 5pm, ages eight and over. Ring to check availability. 01472 403403

Thursday July 30: Old Library Building, Pelham Road, Immingham. Discover the Power of Taiko Drumming! Join the Taiko Drumming Sessions. Saturday August 1: 10.30am to 4pm. Grimsby Roller Hockey club trains at Grimsby Health & Wellbeing Centre, Cromwell Road. Beginners and under 11s up to under 14s, 10.30am to 1.15pm. Seniors and over 14s, 1.15pm to 4pm

Saturday August 1 2pm to 10pm, Blossom Way Sports and Social Club Blossom Way, Immingham. I-Festival is a great day out for all the family! Sunday August 2, 1pm-4pm. Picnic in the Park free event with The Culture House. Each Sunday during August, the historic bandstand in People’s Park comes alive with live music from local artists, emerging performers and touring bands. Alongside the music, there’s plenty to explore: family-friendly activities, nature-based learning sessions, community litter picks, and the legendary ice cream van.

Teqball: Have you spotted one of these curved tables in your local park? You’ll find these Teqball tables in some of the area’s parks play areas. Horizon Youth Zone: There’s a whole summer programme on at this fantastic centre – and remember, evenings, weekends and during the holidays, young people who are Horizon members can get a bus there for just £1.
