ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – SECTION 14(2)
TESCO SLIP ROAD – HEWITTS AVENUE, CLEETHORPES
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC – TTRN 22-169E) EMERGENCY NOTICE 2022
WHEREAS the North East Lincolnshire Borough Council (hereinafter referred to as “the Council”), in exercise of its powers under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991 hereby make the following Emergency Notice the effect of which will be that no person shall cause or permit any motor vehicle from PROCEEDING along the below sections of highway:
HEWITTS AVENUE, CLEETHORPES (SOUTH-WEST BOUND NEARSIDE CARRIAGEWAY LANE) – Part Length, that being the TESCO EXTRA SLIP from a point 90 metres south-west of its roundabout junction with A1031 HUMBERSTON ROAD / TAYLORS AVENUE to the entrance to TESCO EXTRA.
Alternative route: A1098 HEWITTS AVENUE (SOUTH-WEST BOUND), LOW FARM ROUNDABOUT, A1098 HEWITTS AVENUE (NORTH-EAST BOUND).
This emergency prohibition is required to enable maintenance repair work to be undertaken, via Mobile Elevating Work Platform (MEWP), to an illuminated Totem Sign adjacent to the carriageway. Works will be undertaken overnight between 00:30hrs and 06:30hrs whilst the store is closed. Out of hours access to the filling station will be maintained in a north-east bound direction only via the right turn lane on HEWITT’S AVENUE.
The Interpretation Act 1978 shall apply in the interpretation of the Notice as it applies to the interpretation of an Act of Parliament.
The Notice shall come into operation on Friday, 09 December 2022 and shall continue for a period of 21 days unless extended by Order of the Secretary of State for Transport. The closure is expected to remain in place until 06:30hrs on Friday, 09 December 2022.
