Crisis Payments

April 2026 to March 2029

You must be referred to apply.
This means a local support organisation applies for you.

Crisis Payments give emergency help to people who are struggling with money.
It is for people who need help right now.

Who can get help?

You may get help if all of the following apply to you:

  • You live in North East Lincolnshire
  • You are 16 or over
  • You earn less than £21,000 a year
  • You have less than £500 in savings

If you live with other adults or children:

  • All adults together must earn less than £26,000
  • If children live with you, this amount goes up by £3,000 for each child

What help can you get?

If you are eligible, you may get:

  • Money to help you, up to £250
  • A supermarket voucher
  • New or replacement essential items, like a fridge or cooker

How to apply

You cannot apply on your own. You must contact a local support organisation.

They will:

  • Talk to you about your situation
  • Check how much money you have coming in and going out
  • Apply for help for you, if you are eligible

  • Check your application
  • Confirm where you live
  • Check any benefits you receive

The local support organisation will:

  • Keep in touch with you
  • Ask for more details if needed
