Service suspended

The bulky waste service will be suspended over the festive period.
The last date for collections is 20 December 2024 and will resume 6 January 2025.

Standard and rapid bulky waste collections can take up to 10 unwanted household items.

We collect on weekdays except bank holidays.

For the standard service, we will collect items within 4 to 10 working days.

For the rapid service, we will collect items within 1 to 3 working days, subject to availability.

  • No refunds will be issued to customers if a cancellation of a booking for the collection service is requested, or if items are not presented correctly, for example not presented on the footpath.
  • All Items should be placed out on the day of collection by 7am. At street level, clearly visible and accessible on the footpath.
  • All items must be placed on the boundary of the property, where you would normally present your waste bins for collection on the footpath in a safe and responsible manner.
  • Crews will only take items listed for collection when booked.
  • Crews will not enter houses, flats, gardens, garage, out-houses, greenhouses, sheds, bin stores, go up any steps/stairs to collect . You must leave all items clearly visible at the boundary of your property on the footpath.
  • Please do not leave fridges and freezers unattended as they can pose a danger to children. If you are disposing of these items please store the item face down to prevent access or remove/seal up the door.
  • Crews will not collect asbestos – please see the asbestos page for more information.
  • Crews will not collect commercial waste – please see the business waste page advising how this can be disposed of.
  • Collections will be dependent upon emergency situations arising for example adverse weather conditions (i.e. snow, floods), vehicle breakdown.  If crews are unable to collect your item(s) on your collection date you will be notified via telephone and an alternative date will be scheduled.

Charges

  • £25 for up to four items (something which has been dismantled will be counted as one)
  • £6.25 for any additional items, up to the maximum of 10 per order
  • £12.50 for each white good
    • £98.80 per American style fridge
    • £98.80 per ammonia cooled fridge
  • £6.25 additional charge for the rapid collection service

Rubbish that has been dumped illegally will be searched and the owner will have legal action taken against them.
