Childcare funding for ‘working families’

Search by age

9 months+ 2 year olds 3 & 4 year olds School age

From 9 months

  • Tax Free Childcare (can claim from birth)
  • Universal Credit for childcare (if parent is receiving UC as well as working)
  • New offer – 570 hours of free childcare usually taken as 15 hours a week for 38 weeks of the year, but you can choose to take fewer hours over more weeks.

  • Tax Free Childcare
  • Universal Credit for childcare (if parent is receiving UC as well as working)
  • 570 hours of free childcare usually taken as 15 hours a week for 38 weeks of the year, but you can choose to take fewer hours over more weeks.

3 & 4 years old

  • Tax Free Childcare
  • Universal Credit for childcare (if parent is receiving UC as well as working)
  • 1140 hours of free early education or childcare until they start school, usually taken as 30 hours a week for 38 weeks of the year, but you can choose to take fewer hours over more weeks.
