Let’s get ready for school! – September 2025

The application process has now opened for children starting school for the first time.

All children born between 1^st September 2020 and 31^st August 2021 will be eligible to start reception year at infant/primary school in September 2025.

All information on how to apply is available on the North East Lincolnshire Council website and has been issued to all nurseries and early years providers in North East Lincolnshire to distribute to parents/carers of eligible children.

The closing date for applications is Monday 15^th January 2025.

Parents/carers can apply online for a school place through our Parent Portal. The Parent Portal, guidance and associated information are available on the School Admissions webpage (search “Apply for a school place” on the council website).

Parents/carers are advised to apply online wherever possible as submission is secure and receipt can be confirmed directly with the School Admissions team. Those who are unable to apply online can request a paper application form from their child’s nursery or from the School Admissions Team.

Primary school places will be allocated on National Primary Offers Day 16^th April 2025 for all applications which are received by the closing date, 15^th January 2025.

The local authority’s School Admission Team is available to offer impartial advice and guidance to parents/carers via email at [email protected] or by telephone: (01472) 326291 (option 4).

We will also be holding four drop-in sessions at children’s hubs around North East Lincolnshire, where we can provide you with information about the process and support you in your application. Please see the venues below, along with the dates and times we will be available.
