New Look, one of the UK’s most popular high-street fashion brands will open in Freshney Place Shopping Centre in Grimsby this Autumn.

The popular retailer of womenswear, and 915 clothing will occupy a large unit opposite JD Sports. The move is expected to create more than 10 jobs in the local area, adding to the importance of the shopping centre for the local economy.

Alex Hyams senior asset and leasing manager at Queensberry, the developers of Freshney Place said: “We are very pleased to secure New Look, one of the UK’s homegrown retail giants and a key target, for Freshney Place.

“The scheme is an increasingly attractive proposition for national and independent retailers alike, especially as we approach the commencement of the leisure extension which will create a real day to evening offer for the town centre.”

Freshney Place’s western end will undergo significant transformation in the next three years, with support from a £20m LUF Round 2 bid from Central Government, submitted by centre owners North East Lincolnshire Council and awarded in Autumn 2023. A new cinema, market hall and leisure and food venues are being developed.

Amanda Austin, centre director at Freshney Place said: “We are delighted that New Look has chosen to invest in Freshney Place Shopping Centre. As the largest covered shopping centre in NE Lincolnshire, we host a wide variety of leading high street brands. There is no question that New Look will be a hit with our visitors and a great addition to the centre in the coming years.”
